Zoo and Wildlife Health Conference 2020

The conference will be held from May 20th to 23rd 2020 at WILDLANDS Adventure Zoo Emmen, in The Netherlands. At the zoo you can travel the world in one day, though the jungle, savannah and polar region. Discover new areas, be close with the animals, and experience exiting adventures!
The European Association of Zoo and Wildlife Vets annual conference provides an opportunity to present new research and learn about the latest advances in zoo and wildlife health, welfare, conservation and management. Participants also have the opportunity to take part in practical workshops, round table discussions and to network with colleagues. The conference is attended by wildlife researchers, managers and veterinarians from all over the world. It is usually held in May each year and hosted by a European zoo or wildlife institute.
Wildlife Group Congress 2020

The Wildlife Group of the SAVA conference will be held at the Arnold Theiler Building, Lecture Hall 1-35 at the Faculty of Veterinary Science of the University of Pretoria at Onderstepoort, Pretoria, South Africa.
The 3-day conference on 5,6 and 7 March 2020 is preceded by a workshop day.
Main topics of the conference will cover but are not limited to: Immobilisation, Infectious diseases, Clinical case studies, Captive breeding and Environmental and One Health.
The conference aims to provide an international platform for researchers and veterinarians with an interest in wildlife and wildlife management to present their knowledge and experience.

The 68th WDA Annual International Conference

The Karen C. Drayer Wildlife Health Center, School of Veterinary Medicine, UC Davis and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife are proud to be co-hosting the 68th International WDA Conference in 2019. This event will be held at the Granlibakken Lake Tahoe Conference Center in Tahoe City, CA (http://granlibakken.com/) from August 4 – 9, 2019. Situated in the High Sierra and on the north shore of beautiful Lake Tahoe, it will act as a wonderful introduction to our proposed theme – “Fostering Resiliency in a Time of Change” – where climate change and political challenges can be discussed as they relate to wildlife health and conservation or management concerns.

We are excited to announce that the Wildlife Disease Association is hosting their
67th Annual International Conference in St. Augustine, FL on August 5-10, 2018.
This conference provides an interdisciplinary setting for wildlife health, conservation and management experts and practitioners from around the world to exchange ideas, share best practices and give formal presentations on the latest in wildlife health management and conservation. WDA includes many different professional specialties and you do not need to be a WDA member to participate. All interested individuals are invited to attend.

ESSA & ZSSA Combined Biennial Congress

A fully combined congress of the ESSA and ZSSA will be held at the CSIR International Convention Centre in Pretoria. The dates for this congress are 3-7 July 2017.
During this meeting, current topics such as climate change, integrated pest management, biological control, biodiversity loss and human-wildlife conflict will be discussed.
Entomologists and zoologists from South African and international research institutions as well as members of the public sector attend these events, along with many postgraduate students, making it an ideal opportunity for showcasing IMP Microscopes as a company.

3rd International Congress on PARASITES OF WILDLIFE

The 3rd International Congress on Parasites of Wildlife will take place from 24th-29th September at Skukuza in the Kruger National Park, South Africa.
After the success of this event in 2014, and due to the demand and enthusiasm of the previous delegates, the congress will be held every three years.
Apart from interesting presentations about the parasites of wildlife to stimulate the mind, delegates can relax in the tranquillity of the park and enjoy its wildlife. It will be the perfect opportunity to strengthen existing friendships and collaborations and forge new ones. As in 2014, the congress will be hosted by the Parasitological Society of Southern Africa (PARSA) and will thus also include the 46th annual meeting of this society.
ONE HEALTH SYMPOSIUM IN SOUTH AFRICA

A collaborative event bringing together stakeholders in One Health in South Africa in celebration of International One Health Day. The event will be marked by scientific presentations highlighting One Health issues in the country and how collaboration between academic scientists, human and animal health and industry can solve these problems. The symposium intends to address the impact on humans including health and social issues, animal welfare and food security, and environmental issues and trade for the country, and investigate possible control options.
Four zoonotic disease problems of current relevance in South Africa that can be addressed through closer collaboration have been selected:

Brucellosis and Bovine TB

Rabies

Vector-borne diseases: mosquito borne diseases (Rift Valley Fever; West Nile virus); tick-borne diseases (CCHF; Rickettsia)
Speakers from Academia, government and industry have been invited to give presentations on their research, policies and control options.
